Dr. Torsten Matthias
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Matthias is an experienced scientist and entrepreneur with over 30 years of expertise in the biotechnology industry. As CEO of MODAG, he brings extensive experience in the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. His research work focuses on the advancement of market-oriented diagnostics and therapies, particularly in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Matthias‘ commitment to interdisciplinary research and networking drives MODAG’s innovative approaches in the treatment of synucleinopathies.

Prof. Dr. Johannes Levin
Chief Medical Officer

Prof. Levin is a renowned expert in neurodegenerative diseases and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at MODAG. He leads the clinical development of our innovative therapeutic approaches and brings extensive experience in conducting clinical trials, particularly in multiple system atrophy. His expertise at the interface between basic research and clinical application is crucial for the further development of our drug candidates.

Prof. Dr. Armin Giese
Chief Scientific Officer

Professor Giese is a renowned expert in neurodegenerative diseases and the Chief Scientific Officer at MODAG. He played a key role in the development of innovative screening technology and the identification of emrusolmin (anle138b). His research on protein aggregation and its role in neurodegenerative diseases is fundamental to MODAG’s approach. Prof. Giese continues to direct the planning and execution of all of MODAG’s development projects.

Dr. Markus Kostka
Boardmember

Molecular biologist with more than 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and many years of experience in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s research. Dr. Kostka is also an experienced project manager for preclinical and clinical drug development.

Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Oertel Boardmember

Prof. Wolfgang Hermann Oertel is a renowned German neurologist and neuroscientist with many years of experience in Parkinson’s research. As former Director of the Department of Neurology at Marburg University Hospital, he has made a significant contribution to the development of new therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases. Professor Oertel is a member of numerous scientific societies and has received several awards for his research work. As a recognized expert in his field, he brings valuable scientific expertise to MODAG’s Supervisory Board.

Jeff Putman
Boardmember

Jeffrey Putman, a financial expert with over 30 years of experience in the investment industry, has been a family office professional in New York City since 2018. Having held positions at Tudor Investment Corporation and UBS, he brings his extensive knowledge of equity capital markets and portfolio management to the table. As a representative of Massa Investment AG, Putman has joined the Supervisory Board of MODAG.
